Welcome to the Lightning Family Martial Arts Website. Lightning Family Martial Arts is a family based Taekwon-Do club focusing on safe, fun, effective martial arts training for kids and adults starting as low as 3 years of age in our Lightning Strikes Pre-School Program, from 8 – 15 years of age in our teen and young adult classes and from 17 to 74 in our Adult Classes. We also offer aerobic classes and cardiovascular intensive training.

Lightning Family Martial Arts opened doors in November of 1998 with eight students out of a local community center, Over the years LFMA has grown into one of the largest and most successful Martial Arts Clubs in all of Canada.

How did we get so big so fast?

We are a family. Lightning Family Martial Arts is a more than just a club, we are a group of friends training together and working together to better ourselves, and the world around us. When you have something good, word spreads and in the case of Lightning Family Martial Arts word spread fast. The Lightning Taekwon-Do club practices Taekwon-Do under the guidance of Mr. Chris Howes 5th Degree Black Belt and Chief Instructor/Examiner of the Lightning Family Martial Arts club as developed by Gen. Choi, Hong Hi. Taekwon-Do is a safe, fun effective martial art and is practiced by student of ages 3 – 103.

The Members of Lightning Family Martial Arts are the cream of the crop, kind friendly people who care about one another. from the White Belt beginner to the seasoned Black Belt. The people of Lightning Taekwon-Do make it what it is today. a great place to go and spend some time learning a great art, getting in shape, making friends and having good time all around. The Lightning Family Martial Arts members are helpful and courteous to each other and exemplify all that is the art of Taekwon-Do. The Lightning Family Martial Arts club is constantly hosting club events as well as traveling together to experience new things and enjoy the thing that makes us the best. Our club.

With new members joining every day we look forward to every face that brightens our door. Our goal is to make the world a better place by teaching the values and life skills that are integrated into Taekwon-Do training.
